1. Padmanabhaswamy Temple

Located at the heart of the city this temple is the landmark of the city. The famous Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu is run by a trust headed by the erstwhile royal family of Travancore. This temple is one of the 108 holy abodes of Lord Vishnu.

Constructed in Dravidian style of architecture the main attraction is the deity of Sree Padmanabhaswamy. The deity is enshrined in a reclining posture on a serpent called Anantha. In the recent past the temple has become popular for its assets which have been valued 90000 crore. The temple has a seven story carved gopuram which is reflected in the sacred tank.

2. Kovalam

Kovalam first received attention when the Regent Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi of Travancore constructed her beach resort, Halcyon Castle, here towards the end of the 1920s. Thereafter the place was brought to the public eye by her nephew the Maharaja of Travancore. The European guests of the then Travancore kingdom discovered the potentiality of Kovalam beach as a tourist destination in the 1930s. In the early 1970s many hippies came on their way to Ceylon in the Hippie Trail, beginning the transformation of a casual fishing village of Kerala into a significant tourist destination.

3. Azhimala Temple

The Aazhimala Shiva Temple is a Hindu temple located on the coast of the Arabian Sea near Vizhinjam in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, India. Dedicated to Shiva, the temple is known for the 18 m (58 ft) tall Gangadhareshwara sculpture, which is the tallest Shiva sculpture in Kerala. The temple is built in a style resembling the architecture of Tamil Nadu. It is governed by the Aazhimala Shiva Temple Devaswom Trust.

Inside the temple, there is an 18 m (58 ft) tall concrete sculpture of Shiva in Gangadhareshwara figure. It was sculpted by P. S. Devadathan, a native of Aazhimala. Construction of the sculpture started on 2 April 2014 and was completed and opened to the public on 31 December 2020. It is currently the tallest Gangadhareshwara sculpture in India and the tallest Shiva sculpture in Kerala.

4. chenkal shiva temple

Chenkal is a village in Thiruvananthapuram district in the state of Kerala, India.[2][3] Until the land-reforms ordinance enacted by the Communist regime in the 1950s, the village formed part of the estate of the jenmi (Yejamanan) of Kandamath. The ramparts of the medieval Kandamath Palace (Kandamath Madom Thampuran Vaka) and the ruins can still be seen in the area.[4] Maheshwaram Shiva Parvathi temple, which houses the tallest Shiva lingam in the world, having a height of 111 ft, is located in this village.

5. Vettukad Church

St. Francis Xavier is thought to have visited Vettukad sometime between 1543 and 1547 to evangelise the region but found a population of Christians already there. In 1568, Madre De Deus had a parish of 175. The current church was built under Rev. Fr. Godwin A. Gudinho in 1934 and completed under Rev. Fr. Michael John in 1937. It was subsequently blessed by Monsinjor Leon De Souza, Vicar General of the Cochin Diocese, and grew with the help of St. Antony’s Forane Church and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Trivandrum. A new cemetery vault was added to the parish in 2008, increasing the capacity by more than 100.

6. Ponmudi

Ponmudi (the Golden Peak) is a hill station in the Peringamala gramapanchayath of Trivandrum District of Kerala in India.

It is located 22km west of Vithura town, 53 km north-east of Trivandrum City, 78 km south-east of Varkala town and 69 km north-east of Kovalam Beach at an altitude of 1,100 m (3,600 ft). Ponmudi (Varayadumotta) peak is a part of the Western Ghats mountain range that runs parallel to the Arabian Sea. Ponmudi is a popular honeymoon destination in South India. The normal temperature of Ponmudi is between 18 and 25 °C (64 and 77 °F).

It is the southernmost tip of the Indian subcontinent and the southernmost city in mainland India, and thus referred to as "The Land's End".

Kanniyakumari is a popular tourist destination and pilgrimage centre in India. Notable tourist spots include its unique sunrise and sunset points, the 41-metre (133 ft) Thiruvalluvar Statue, and Vivekananda Rock Memorial off the coast. Lying at the tip of peninsular India, the town is bordered on the west, south, and east by the Laccadive Sea. It has a coastline of 71.5 kilometres (44.4 mi) stretched along these three sides.

6. Poovar Boating

Poovar is a tourist town in Neyyattinkara (tehsil) in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala state, South India. This village is almost at the southern tip of Thiruvananthapuram while the next village, Pozhiyoor, marks the end of Kerala.

Poovar was a trading centre of timber, sandalwood, ivory and spices. It is believed that ships owned by King Solomon of Israel landed in Ophir, which is identified by some sources as Poovar, The village was one of the ancient Muslim settlements along the western coast of India. The central mosque in Poovar was built by Malik Deenar, an eighth century Muslim preacher. During the reign of the Chola dynasty, Poovar was a major port. The explorer Megasthenes, Roman writer Pliny the Elder and Venetian traveller Marco Polo mention connections with Greece and Rome.
